美国贝勒医学院神经科学博士后招聘
Job Description
Summary
The Jankowsky lab seeks a postdoctoral fellow for an NIH-funded project to examine how genetic variants shape cognitive resilience in Alzheimer's disease. We have created knock-in and knock-out mice to examine the function of a candidate disease modifier and are poised to take our studies in several exciting new directions. First, we want bring transcriptional analyses to our studies for comparison of downstream changes in vulnerable vs. resistant brain areas and cell types. Second, we want to determine how this modifier affects neuronal structure and connectivity through single cell labeling and image-based reconstruction in cleared tissue. Ongoing work in the lab will connect these molecular and structural studies with electrophysiological and behavioral testing. We seek a motivated candidate who is intellectually and experimentally flexible enough to tackle these new lines of study with us. Researchers will work as part of a team combining mouse genetic engineering, viral circuit manipulation, hippocampal slice electrophysiology, and basic biochemistry to elucidate the complex interaction between genetics, aging, and cognitive health.
