美国阿尔伯特.爱因斯坦医学院博士后职位
Postdoctoral positions are immediately available in the Gavathiotis Laboratory at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York City. Our laboratory uses chemical and structural biology to study cell death and cell survival pathways such as apoptosis, selective autophagy, mitochondrial dynamics and oncogenic signaling with the goal to characterize novel biological mechanisms that contribute to cancer and other diseases. We harness mechanistic and structural insights to discover first-in-class chemical probes, develop novel therapeutics and enable applications with translational impact. We currently work on BCL-2 family proteins and other protein-protein interactions and kinase targets (Nat. Cancer 2020, Nat. Chem. Biol. 2019 PMID:30718816, Science 2018 PMID: 29674596, Cancer Cell 2017 PMID: 29017059, Mol. Cell 2016 PMID: 27425408, Cancer Cell 2016 PMID: 27523909).
The Gavathiotis laboratory is well-resourced with advanced equipment and has access to sophisticated core facilities, including high-field NMR and synchrotron beamtime, and a network of collaborators in academia and industry. We provide opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary group using chemical biology, structural biology, biochemistry, cell biology, computational and experimental screening, medicinal chemistry, drug design and in vivo pharmacology and offer unique opportunity for creativity and innovation leading to publications of high-impact papers and patents.
We look for candidates with experience in either of these areas:
1) Cancer Chemical Biology. Experience in relevant signaling mechanisms, omics technologies, genetic and drug screens or in vivo approaches will be appreciated.
2) NMR- and/or X-ray-based structural biology. Experience in protein biochemistry, protein structure and dynamics determination, protein-ligand structure and interactions is desirable.
3) Small molecule drug discovery. Experience in medicinal chemistry, chemical probe design or structure-based drug design is desirable.
The candidates will have a Ph.D. in one of the relevant areas such as chemistry, chemical biology, structural biology, biochemistry, cell biology or cancer biology, a strong record of accomplishments and ambitious scientific goals. Applicants should send a cover letter, including 1-2 page summary of past and present research interests and accomplishments, and a curriculum vitae with names and contact details of three references.
Please send your application or any specific question related to the position to Dr. Evris Gavathiotis, Professor of Biochemistry and of Medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine at evripidis.gavathiotis@einsteinmed.org
The position offers competitive salary, subsidized housing, outstanding research training opportunities and a vibrant scientific environment at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the New York City area. Albert Einstein College of Medicine is located in New York in a scenic Bronx campus in an area rich with recreation and entertainment.
The Albert Einstein College of Medicine is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, protected veteran or disabled status, or genetic information. Einstein seeks candidates whose skills, and personal and professional experience, have prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and excellence, and the communities we serve.
