Postdoctoral Researcher in DNA Damage Responses and Cancer Therapeutics, laboratory of Dr. Eric J. Brown, Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania

The laboratory of Dr. Eric J. Brown in the Department of Cancer Biology is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to examine the molecular responses to cancer therapeutics that target regulators of genome integrity. The position available will focus on the biochemical response to such drugs to identify novel drug targets and biomarkers of clinical responsiveness. Specifically, these studies will seek to purify factors recruited to DNA replication forks upon drug treatment and quantify their abundance by label-free LC-MS/MS and bioinformatic approaches. Findings from these proteomic studies will be subsequently correlated with tumor-associated mutations and clinical benefit as part of a multi-institutional clinical trial. The goal of this research is to identify clinically relevant drug response factors that will both better characterize the mechanism of action of these therapeutics and generate novel hypotheses for follow-up biological studies.

Highly qualified candidates will have a PhD or MD-PhD with extensive experience in biochemical methodologies and/or molecular biology.
