Job Description
The Institute of Sports Science, Group of Embodiment in Sport and Cognitive Fitness, invites applications for the position of a Research Assistant (m/f/d) in the area of embodiment and motor cognition (Salary Scale 13 TV-L, 100 %) starting October 1, 2020 or earlier. The position is initially limited to 3 years with the possibility of an extension.
Responsibilities and duties
Responsibilities and duties include:
Design and conduction of research projects within the area of research covered by the group, i.e. embodiment and motor cognition
Publication of peer-reviewed journal articles
Application for external research funding
Teaching in the amount of 4 weekly lecture hours
Supervision of student degree theses
Contribution to university self-administration
Employment conditions
To qualify for the position, applicants must hold a university degree. A PhD in Sports Science, Cognitive Psychology, Behavioural Neuroscience or related fields is expected.
In addition, it would be advantageous to have:
Background in embodiment or motor cognition research, preferably related to motor decision making or interpersonal coordination
Strong methodological background in kinematic movement analysis using optical motion tracking (e.g. Qualisys)
Programming skills (particularly Matlab)
Proven track record in publishing peer-reviewed articles
Strong written and verbal English skills
Qualifications and experiences in teaching at undergraduate and graduate level
Distinct interest in interdisciplinary research and research cooperation, high level of personal responsibility, ability to work in a team, willingness to learn, and service focus
Part-time employment is possible.
