Job Description

Summary

The Laboratory Animal Medicine Training Program within the Center for Comparative Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking graduate veterinary applicants for a postdoctoral training position. The postdoctoral fellow will work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary veterinary team to provide care for a diverse population of research animals and undertake a research project while acquiring the didactic training hours required to sit for certification in the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine. The incumbent will also work closely with IACUC administrators to help provide regulatory oversight of the animal care and use program. The postdoctoral fellow must be licensed in at least one state and eligible for Texas licensure.

Job Duties

· Plans, directs and conducts specialized and advanced research experiments.

· Evaluates and analyzes data.

· May establish new research protocols and procedures.

· Summarizes research findings and publish results in research journals.

· May be responsible for laboratory operations.

· May supervise research staff.

Minimum Qualifications

· Education Required: Ph.D in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
