Job Description

The Department of Surgery at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine, has an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Associate. We are seeking candidates with strong research capabilities and innovative approaches to drive studies of human cancers. This position provides an exciting opportunity to be an integral component of a well-established group. This group studies the molecular alterations that occur during development and progression of gastrointestinal tumors.

The duties and responsibilities for this position may include, but are not limited to:

Performing a wide variety of experiments in a research laboratory with a focus on molecular biology, biochemistry, pathology and mouse modeling techniques.

Performing in vivo experiments with mouse models.

Participating in laboratory management, including data management from research assays, and equipment maintenance.

Presenting research data in various venues are expected.

Assisting in publications.

Ensuring that all research is undertaken according to good research practices.

Minimum Qualifications

Ph.D. or other doctoral degree in biological science or M.D. Possess an interest to learn new techniques and areas of research. Able to convey information effectively. Able to work independently. Able to follow verbal and written instructions. Have strong analytical skills.

Patient safety is a top priority.
