美国加州理工学院2020年招聘博士后(应用物理学)
A Caltech lab seeks a highly skilled research scientist whose primary work will be focused on the development of novel fieldable medical technologies for disease sensing. Knowledge and background in micro/nanofabrication will be used to build new sensor components. The efficacy of these new instruments will be determined through laboratory and patient testing. This work will be part of a team effort with other staff, students, and researchers to incorporate biochemical, optical, electrical, and fluidic components into complete systems. The two devices the candidate will be working on are a rapid point of care sample-to-answer polymerase chain reaction (PCR) system to detect pathogens (in particular SARS-CoV-2 for Covid-19 patients) and an implantable wireless blood chemical sensor. General research goals are oriented around developing fabrication techniques for new types of electrical and optical biomolecule sensors.
Job Duties
– Develop an implantable CMOS-based blood glucose sensor – Develop fabrication methods for high-speed PCR chambers, optical subsystems, and chemical storage for SARS-CoV-2 testing system – Fabrication of novel implanted electrochemical electrodes and films – Work with other engineers and researchers to incorporate the various subsystems for an implanted wireless sensor, and a high-speed sample-to-answer virus detection PCR tool.
Basic Qualifications
– Ph.D. in Physics or Applied Physics – 1 year postdoctoral scholar experience – Experience with the development, laboratory testing, and 'in vivo' testing of disease sensors – Proficiency in micro/nanofabrication equipment and techniques, cleanroom operation, and sensor packaging – Knowledge in construction of new tooling for micro and nanofabrication
Preferred Qualifications
– Fabrication experience with CMOS post-processing, modification of sputter processing, and device etching – Experience in nanofabrication, including focused ion beam etching, electron beam lithography, and analytical electron microscopy – Familiarity with electrical and optical bimolecular sensors – Knowledge of 'in vivo' biochemistry and enzymatic reactions – Laboratory experience in building systems to optimize performance of electrochemical and biochemical sensors – Experience in designing and building fluorescence measurement systems and integrating these with micro fluidic devices
Required Documents
– Resume
