The National Centre of Excellence in Research on Parkinson’s Disease (NCER-PD), coordinated by the Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine(LCSB) at the University of Luxembourg, is a highly successful flagship programme funded by the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR) and executed by the leading biomedical research institutions and hospitals in Luxembourg in collaboration with national and international partners and initiatives in the field of neurodegenerative diseases. Launched in 2015, the programme swiftly gained international visibility and impact and commences now into its second funding phase.

NCER-PD is an interdisciplinary effort, combining clinical, experimental and computational research to develop the foundation for future predictive, preventive, and personalized medicine in Parkinson’s disease.

At the LCSB, we are passionate about what we do. Because of our continued expansion, we seek qualified candidates to reinforce the management of scientific as well as coordination activities and oversee the data management of the NCER-PD programme. The successful candidate is proactive, reliable, diplomatic, and a team player. The ability to work in a fast-paced international academic environment with strong attention to detail is essential.

To support the Coordinator of the NCER-PD programme, we are recruiting a: Postdoctoral researcher with focus on Scientific Project and Data Management

Your Role

•Be a key link across research activities within NCER-PD translational programme, connecting the activities of the IBBL (biosample storage) with the activities at the LCSB (data stewardship).

•Be the main access point for daily support national and international collaborations with NCER-PD to advance research for precision medicine in Parkinson’s disease.

•Support the Principal Investigators in coordinating the scientific development, execution and monitoring of the research programme.

•Guarantee that scientific activities and results are effectively communicated within the scientific and healthcare communities.

•Ensure the development of scientific extensions to the research programme, including international collaborations.

•Oversee the development and use of data related to the NCER-PD programme, and guarantee that all data to and from the programme are secured.

•Oversee that rules and procedures for data storage and sharing are always respected also for collaboration agreements with external research partners.

•Ensure that data flows timely and securely to and from the NCER-PD programme as well as within it.

•Support organization of project events, such as scientific symposia and annual programme meetings, project committee and scientific advisory board meetings.

•Develop scientific reporting to the scientific advisory board, the national funding agency and internal stakeholders.

•Engage in outreach activities to raise public awareness and support fundraising to gain further financial support by public and private funders.

•Network with researchers and stakeholders to conduct fundamental and clinical research.

Your Profile

•PhD degree in the natural/life sciences/computer science, or human medicine plus work experience (at least 3 years) in data management, with a focus on project management.

•Excellent understanding of data management requirements according to the FAIR principles (making data findable, accessible interoperable and reusable).

•Highly passionate, motivated and flexible organizer and manager.

•Reliable, efficient, and proactive in your work.

•Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

•Excellent interpersonal skills, solid stakeholder management and strong communication skills. *Ability to quickly adapt and effectively organize, prioritize, and execute tasks in a highly dynamic environment with attention to detail and accuracy.

•Ability to accomplish multiple tasks within deadlines.

•Excellent oral and written skills in English. Additional good knowledge of German, French or Luxembourgish is considered an asset.

•High-level competency in MS Office.

As a self-starter, working with minimum supervision, you will take ownership of your tasks and strive to provide a high level of service.
