挪威奥斯陆大学2020年招聘博士后职位(胰腺癌代谢方向)

POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP IN PANCREATIC CANCER METABOLISM

University of Oslo

Job Description

Postdoctoral Fellowship in Pancreatic Cancer Metabolism.

A position as post-doctoral research fellow is available at the Institute of Clinical Medicine, Division of Surgery, Inflammatory Diseases and Transplantation, Department of Gastrointestinal and Children Surgery.

We are searching for a highly motivated candidate, interested in translational medicine. The fellowship is for three years, starting no later than February 2021. Within the period of appointment, it may be agreed that the person appointed shall perform teaching duties, but limited up to 10 % of the post, so that the person's research work is not hampered.

Project description

The position is linked to the Tumor Biology in Pancreatic Cancer group, led by Prof. Ivar P. Gladhaug. The research group is investigating pancreatic tumor microenvironment especially the stroma-induced biological mechanisms responsible for tumor progression, metabolic remodeling, and chemoresistance in human pancreatic cancer. The project uses a multi-disciplinary approach including in vitro and ex vivo models and human tissue, along with various molecular biology and omics techniques. The project is a collaboration between the Departments of Hepato-pancreato-biliary Surgery, Pathology, and Pharmacology at the University of Oslo and Oslo University Hospital. The relevant techniques are well-established in the group or supported through several ongoing national and international collaborations.

The current project involves identification of metabolic changes and associated molecular mechanisms in human pancreatic tumors that may contribute to overall tumor progression and treatment failure. The project aims to identify new therapeutic targets for pancreatic cancer. The project will utilize human pancreatic tumor-derived biomaterials including tumor biopsies, primary stellate cells (cancer-associated fibroblasts) and cancer cells as well as various commercially available cancer cell lines and fibroblasts. The postdoc will be working primarily with cellular and molecular studies of pancreatic stellate cells, cancer cells, and their interactions.
