英国牛津大学2021年招聘博士后职位(分娩中胎儿监护的大数据研究)

(Postdoctoral) Researcher in Big Data for Fetal Monitoring In Labour

University of Oxford

Description

(Postdoctoral) Researcher in Big Data for Fetal Monitoring in Labour

Nuffield Department of Women's & Reproductive Health, Level 3, Women's Centre, John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford Grade 7/8: £32,817 to £44,045 p.a.

The Oxford Centre for Fetal Monitoring Technologies (@oxfordfetal), Nuffield Department of Women's & Reproductive Health is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, detail-oriented and capable scientist to join our group as either a Grade 7 Postdoctoral Researcher or Grade 8 Researcher in Big Data for Fetal Monitoring in Labour (depending on experience), with a focus on translational research in signal and data processing and analysis.

Reporting to and working closely with the Scientific Director and Principal Investigator Assoc. Prof. Antoniya Georgieva, you will conduct research as part of a collaboration between the University of Oxford and the NHS. This presents a real and exciting opportunity to work on research with direct translational impact.

Our research is focused on understanding the relation of fetal heart rate and other physiological patterns to the baby's health at birth. In particular, we are focused on harnessing the information from large-scale routinely collected maternity data for the development of bedside AI-powered decision-support software to assist midwives and obstetricians in their labour management decisions. The ultimate goal is to prevent brain damage and/or death of babies due to lack of oxygen during labour and delivery – rare but devastating events with long-ranging impact on individuals, families, clinicians and healthcare systems.

You will work with the world's largest and most complete fetal monitoring databases (~120,000 births in total), conducting world-leading research at the interface between academia and healthcare, with close links to industry. You will be an integral part of the team, working collaboratively within the team, including doctors, midwives, AI-focused researchers and IT/App developers; and provide guidance to junior members of the research group including research assistants and PhD students.

You will undertake research in risk-prediction and fetal wellbeing assessment during labour, contributing to the development of the Oxford System for fetal monitoring in labour (OxSys), which is based on intrapartum cardiotocography (CTG) and clinical risk factors. You will support various aspects of this ambitious programme as we are looking for an individual with a range of interests and abilities within the wider interdisciplinary area. This post will enable you to further your skillset and apply state-of-the-art methodology within the field of Big Data for maternity.

You will have a PhD (or be close to completion) in a subject relevant to this project field (mathematical optimisation, statistics, computer science, biomedical engineering, healthcare technologies, machine learning, signal processing or similar). At a Grade 8, you will also have post-qualification experience, including experience of independently managing a discrete area of research. You will have proven competence in programming complex methods and source codes for signal processing and data analysis in Matlab as well as a strong record of publications in biomedical signal processing, healthcare data analysis, statistical prediction models and/or machine learning for medical applications. Good knowledge of methods and algorithms for healthcare data processing and analysis, clinical monitoring, risk assessment and decision- support; and/or fetal monitoring data are also essential for this role. You will have collaborative mindset, excellent organisation sills and the ability to manage your own academic research and associated activities.

This position is full-time (although part-time options will also be considered) and fixed term for 30 months. Applications for flexible working arrangements are welcomed and will be considered in line with business needs.

You will be required to upload a CV and Supporting Statement as part of your online application. Click here for information and advice on writing an effective Supporting Statement: https: // www. jobs.ox.ac.uk/cv-and-supporting- statement

The closing date for applications is 12.00 noon on Monday 12 April 2021.
