Postdoctoral Research Associate (DNA damage response, DNA repair, cancer biology)

Position Summary

A postdoctoral research associate position is immediately available in the laboratory of Dr. Aimin Peng at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). The laboratory is located in Lincoln, Nebraska. This position will conduct research projects under the supervision of PI, in research areas of the DNA damage response, cell proliferation and signaling, cancer progression and therapy.

Responsibilities and functions of this position include but not limited to:

1. Carry out research projects under supervision of PI.

2. Implement molecular, cellular, biochemical, and animal tumor model-related experiments independently (with occasional supervision).

3. Compile and organize results.

4. Provide support in planning/scheduling experiments according to established protocols.

5. Analyze, summarize, and prepare drafts for publication.

Qualifications

REQUIRED: Ph.D. (Doctorate), with training and education background in Biomedical Research.

Preferred: Previous publications in peer-reviewed journals that demonstrate extensive experience in basic biomedical research; experiences in cancer biology, cell signaling, toxicity studies, drug discovery, and animal models.

Additional Information

The position is supported by multiple NIH grants, and will work on well-developed research projects in cell cycle regulation, DNA repair, cancer therapy, and drug resistance.
