As an employee at the Division of Energy Technology you are an important part of a group of researchers with the general aim to optimize and reduce environmental impact of industrial energy use. In total, Energy Technology has around 60 employees out of which 30 are PhD-students. We are now recruiting a researcher or post-doc for a 2-year project.

The work is focused around experimental evaluation of oxygen carriers in continuous chemical-looping systems. During the project you will work in a creative research group that is world leading in its field, has extensive experience of practical research and access to unique experimental infrastructure. The goal is to find effective and affordable oxygen carries that can be used to increase the efficiency of the applications described above. The overall goal of our group is to develop revolutionary technology for efficient generation of power, heat and hydrogen with inherent carbon dioxide capture.

The current recruitment for a researcher or post-doc position is funded by the Swedish Research Council.

Major responsibilities Your main responsibility as a researcher/post-doc is to pursue your own scientific studies and to develop your abilities and knowledge within the research fields covered by the project. You are expected to develop your own scientific concepts and communicate the results of your research verbally at scientific conferences and in written journal articles.

Qualifications By the starting date, you should have a PhD degree in a relevant subject, such as for example chemical engineering, power engineering, mechanical engineering, etc. Knowledge about chemical-looping combustion and fluidization – both experimental and theoretical – are mandatory.

Position summary Full-time temporary employment as researcher or post-doc. The position is limited to a maximum of two years.
