Postdoc in Immunotherapy Opening

The SciOmics lab (Single-Cell Integrated Omics), led by David Woods PhD, at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking a postdoc to join our team. With a focus on anti-cancer immune responses, the SciOmics lab utilizes high-dimension, single cell technologies to analyze cancer patient samples for the purpose of identifying, characterizing, and targeting biomarkers of patient response to immunotherapies. Our lab fosters a culture of teamwork and creativity in these pursuits.

Nature of Work:

The primary projects associated with this position focus on investigating cytokine signaling pathways as biomarkers and targets for enhancing cancer immunotherapies. An ideal candidate would have a background in immunology and/or cancer biology with an interest in learning/utilizing data science to identify, characterize, and target biomarkers of patient response to cancer immunotherapies. While the position requires knowledge of immunology and experience with flow cytometry and murine models, there is an expectation that many of the position responsibilities will be developed “on the job”.

Major Responsibilities:

•Oversee and develop research projects.

•Communicating results in one-on-one interactions with lab members, regular lab meetings, meeting with collaborators, scientific publications, scientific conference abstracts and presentations, grants and progress reports.

•Developing, optimizing and running various experimental assays on various platforms including: flow cytometry, Luminex, CITE-Seq, IsoLight.

•Developing and performing experiments in murine models

•Utilizing various software including FlowJo and learning and using the R/Python programming languages for data analysis.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

•A Ph.D. in an applicable discipline.

•A background in immunology or cancer biology

Preferred Qualifications:

•Experience with flow cytometry.

•Experience in murine models.

•Experience with R and/or Python

•Experience with sequencing technologies

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

•A basic knowledge of statistics.

•Computer/technologically savvy.

•Creative, organized, motivated with a desire to learn.

•Works well on a small team in a dynamic environment.

•A strong knowledge of immunology.
