Investigating dynamic RNA and histone modifications in cancer stem cells

We are interested in the mechanisms of dynamic RNA plasticity / histone regulation and how these processes affect pluripotent and cancer stem cell biology. With recent pioneering work, the field of RNA regulation in oncogenesis is rapidly developing.

Tasks

This post will focus on characterizing novel mechanisms for gene regulation and the identification of underlying genes and enzymes. The successful candidate is capable of conceptual thinking, is looking forward to learning new techniques, has good communication skills and is well organized. Knowledge of basic methods in molecular biology (RNA and/or chromatin modification analyses), prostate cancer cell is highly advantageous. Required is experience with at least one of the following areas or tools: Crispr-Cas9 based genetic engineering, ChIP-Seq, real-time PCR, RNA-seq, microRNA biology, inducible knock-down/ over-expression systems.

Qualifications

The potential candidate must have completed a PhD degree in molecular biology or medicine, with one or several publications in internationally well-regarded, peer-reviewed scientific journals. Applicants with publications in press are also considered.
