美国康奈尔大学威尔康奈尔医学院2021年招聘博士后职位(自闭症谱系障碍(ASD)研究)
Weill Cornell Medical College
TWO funded postdoctoral positions are available in the laboratory of Dr. Dilek Colak through the Brain and Mind Research Institute at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York, NY.
$70,000 per year + fringe benefits
POSITION 1:
Modeling Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) using genetically modified mouse models. The candidate gene is likely to be expressed in immune cells. Therefore, a neuro-immunologist, an immunologist or a candidate interested in studying the role of immune system in ASD would fit best to this project. The study will involve wide range of techniques including mouse behavioral assays, stereotaxic injections, cytokine profiling, synaptic plasticity studies, FACS sorting, and RNA sequencing.
You must have experience in neuroscience or immunology and be in possession of a PhD. Please DO NOT APPLY if you do not have experience in AT LEAST ONE of the following: mouse studies, immunology, microglia, neuroscience, or autism. Applications will be reviewed until the position is filled.
POSITION 2: Modeling Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) using iPSC-derived organoids and genetically modified mouse lines. The candidate gene is expressed in neurons as well as in immune cells. The study will involve wide range of techniques including mouse behavioral assays, stem cell cultures, CRISPR technique, cerebral organoid generation, histology, and multielectrode recording from organoid slices.
You must have experience in neuroscience or organoids and be in possession of a PhD. Please DO NOT APPLY if you do not have experience in AT LEAST ONE of the following: cell culture, stem cells, organoids, mouse studies, biochemistry, or CRISPR. Applications will be reviewed until the position is filled.
These positions provide the opportunity for considerable creativity and innovation and applicants with these skills are also especially encouraged to apply. The wide range of research topics in the Colak lab makes it an excellent environment for interdisciplinary training (http://www.colaklab.com). The laboratory environment is highly collegial and interactive.
Cornell University’s Weill Cornell Medicine is located in Manhattan’s Upper East Side, immediately adjacent to the Sloan Kettering Institute and Rockefeller University. This “tri-institutional campus” includes several hundred principal investigators and postdocs, and has one of the highest densities of biomedical scientists in the world. Dr. Colak’s laboratory and most supporting facilities are in the newly constructed Belfer research building. This rich scientific environment provides unique and unparalleled research training opportunities, including research seminars given by leaders in science from throughout the U.S. and abroad, opportunities for collaborations, exposure to diverse research programs, and highly sophisticated core facilities.
Questions about this position and/or applications, comprising a CV and contact information for references, should be e-mailed to Dr. Dilek Colak at mailto:dic2009@med.cornell.edu.
