Computational Biologist – multiomics analysis of heterogeneous gene expression in tumours

Initial 3 year fixed term contract with possible 2 year extension.

The Institute provides an outstanding research environment, underpinned by state-of-the-art core services and advanced technologies, with special emphasis on imaging, metabolomics, and in vivo models.

Our innovative and ambitious research themes focus on understanding the regulation of the tumour microenvironment and cancer metabolism, in particular:

Intrinsic cancer cell vulnerabilities

Interplay between the tumour microenvironment, metastasis and recurrence

Biology of early disease, aimed at developing a ‘Precision Prevention' approach

The Computational Biology laboratory is interested in the processes that act following transcription to regulate protein expression. The group uses machine learning approaches to develop integrated multi-omics models of the systems that control gene expression, and to understand how these processes change according to cellular context.

A postdoctoral position is available within the group to develop complex models of gene expression across tissues. This will involve working with a combination of spatial transcriptomics and imaging data, proteomics, DNA-, RNA-, metabolomics, and single cell RNA sequencing data.
