Your Role…

Successful candidates will join a young, strong and motivated FINATRAX Research Group. The research group conducts research on the application and the impact of digital technologies like DLT/Blockchain, Digital Identities, Machine Learning/AI, and IoT/5G on organisations in the private or public sector. By doing so, it builds bridges between business research and information systems engineering. The group consists of doctoral and post-doctoral researchers who come from different disciplines (e.g., policy, business, technology) and pursue first-rate research on the design and impact of information systems.

Successful candidates will perform the following tasks:

o Carrying out research in the predefined areas

o Disseminating results through scientific publications

o Communicating and working with stakeholders in government (ministries, regulators, government-run start-up incubators) and companies in the financial service sector

o Preparing research proposals to attract industry partnerships as well as national and European grant projects

o Managing research projects and preparing project deliverables

o Providing guidance to PhD and master students

Your Profile…

Qualification: The candidate should possess a PhD degree or equivalent in Computer Science, FinTech, Information Systems (Engineering), Mathematics,Physics, Industrial Engineering or a related technical field.

What we’re looking for:

o A collaborative team player with a desire to make a personal impact within our interdisciplinary research group

o The commitment to participate in the design and implementation of high-quality solutions that solve significant problems

o Self-initiative, creativity, curiosity, flexibility and enthusiasm to work

o Prior experience in publishing high-quality and high-impact research (including publications in top-tier journals and conference proceedings)

Knowledge and Experience:

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge and/or experience in:

o Data Science, Statistics, Machine Learning, Deep Learning

o Programming skills

o Research method(s)

For collaboration within the group, the candidate should be open to other technologies, such as DLT/Blockchain, Digital Identities, or IoT/5G or applications of Machine Learning/AI in other areas, such as markets for electricity or mobility.

Language Skills: Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English are required. Knowledge of either French, German or Luxembourgish will be appreciated but are not a requirement to apply.

o Learn to effectively build and manage small to medium sized teams

o Concentrate on research and project work as there are very limited administrative and teaching duties
