The Deininger Lab is searching for a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to work on our NIH-funded research project of “Novel Metabolic Target – SIRT5 – In Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML)”, at Versiti Blood Research Institute (BRI) [https://www.versiti.org/research/blood-research-institute]. This postdoctoral fellow will be leading the research of (1) developing small molecular inhibitor drugs to target critical metabolic influencer SIRT5 in AML, and (2) understanding the function of SIRT5 in normal and aging hematopoiesis.

Qualified applicants must have ample knowledge and abundant research experience in cancer biology, biochemistry or hematology/immunology. Candidates who received their Ph.D. in cancer biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or other relevant disciplines are welcome to apply. Applicants must have a good learning attitude, be able to work independently after proper training. As part of the collaborative program between Versiti BRI and Medical College of Wisconsin Cancer Center, the Deininger Lab is dedicated to translational research in hematological malignancies, including CML, AML and CMML. The BRI is located adjacent to the Medical College of Wisconsin on the campus of the Milwaukee Regional Medical Center (MRMC), which is also home to Milwaukee’s major teaching hospitals, Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin (CHW) and Froedtert Hospital (FH). The proximity of the BRI to the basic and clinical research programs of these institutions promote productive environment for collaboration.
