Education is changing. The University of Leeds is at the forefront of developments in the digital transformation of higher education. The project is part of a group of projects in medical education and in the Centre for Immersive Technologies which reflect the University's digital transformation strategy, and we envisage the possibility of involvement in future projects. We are looking for an experienced researcher to contribute to an innovative project exploring the use of immersive technology in medical education?

You will work on the Virtual Clinical Experiences project funded by Health Education England within the School of Medicine led by Dr Jane Kirby. The role is to work with Dr Bronwen Swinnerton on the research associated with this project. The research will focus on a number of key areas including the impact on patients of streamed consultations using Smart Glasses including medical ethics issues, as well as an evaluation of perceptions of the key stakeholders and impact on the learning experience and outcomes for students participating in remote virtual consultations.

This project will be evaluated using a mixed methods approach consisting of interviews, focus groups, and surveys and other appropriate data collection methods, with a range of stakeholders including patients and patient groups, practitioners, academics, students and educational technologists. The ability to work alone or as part of a team is essential, as are strong organisational skills.

You will have previously conducted research studies involving multiple stakeholders and organisations. Ideally, this previous experience would have been gained in an education or healthcare context.
