Postdoctoral researcher in psychology for the period February 1, 2022 – December 31, 2024

The recruited Postdoctoral researcher will work at the Department of Psychology and Speech-Language pathology, in the research group included in the INVEST flagship and led by prof. Christina Salmivalli. The focus of our research is in evaluating evidence-based preventive interventions to enhance the well-being of children and youth, investigating the uptake and implementation of such interventions, and doing developmental research that has potential to lead to the advancement of existing interventions or to the development of new ones. Our important focal research area since a long time is school bullying. The tasks of the recruited researcher are research work leading to high-quality peer-reviewed publications (partly in the context of ERC-funded CHALLENGE project, see https: // sites.utu.fi/challenge/), applying funding for new projects that fit our existing work (especially in the area of bullying), and contributing, with some input, to the training of international trainers of the KiVa antibullying program (www. kivaprogram.net).

Requirements: The eligibility criteria for the position is defined in the rules of procedure of the University of Turku https: // www. utu.fi/sites/default/files/public%3A//media/file/UTURulesofProcedure.pdf (section 37). Person selected for the position of Postdoctoral Researcher is required to have:

a) a doctoral degree in psychology, sociology or a related field, b) ability to conduct independent research and experience of publishing in peer-reviewed journals and c) prior knowledge of the KiVa antibullying program, acquired through research or training

Successful applicants have strong research orientation and fluency in English. Knowledge of Finnish is not required.

Salary: The salary is determined by the collective agreement system of Finnish universities. The position belongs to the category of teaching and research personnel. The pre-estimated starting salary will be 3300-4000 eur/month. The exact salary will depend on the person's competence and research experience and will be specified when the employment contract is prepared. Progress in the researcher's personal performance will be taken into account when determining the salary during employment.

The position is subject to a six (6) months trial period. The candidate is expected to begin work in February 2022, but no later than March 2022.
