The laboratory of Dr. Mallar Bhattacharya at UCSF has an open position for a postdoctoral fellow interested in mechanisms of lung injury and fibrosis. The Bhattacharya Laboratory (https://bhattacharyalab.ucsf.edu) is focused on immune-stromal interactions in the lung. Our work addresses the following overarching questions: How do macrophages regulate fibroblast activation? How does cellular senescence regulate immune cell recruitment and function? A range of approaches is used, including single cell genomics, live tissue slice imaging, and functional lung injury experiments, as well as analysis of primary human lung cells. Required qualifications:

-PhD degree in immunology, lung biology, or a related field, with direct experience with immune profiling and functional assays including flow cytometry/FACS

-Experience with mouse genetic models

-Willingness to develop a working knowledge of single-cell genomics analysis

-Knowledge of and experience with molecular biology techniques

Preferred qualifications:

-Experience with confocal or multiphoton microscopy

-Experience in lung models
