Description

The Centre for Biosensors, Bioelectronics and Biodevices at the University of Bath is seeking a researcher to join the team on an NIHR funded Product Development Award to develop new medical devices based on sensing within the ear canal.

In this position you will take a leading role in coordinating with multi- disciplinary and multi-institutional teams, collaborating with academics, industrial designers, and a clinical trials unit to ensure the project delivers tangible impact. This research project will develop novel technologies in a holistic manner and will support the design, development, validation, and clinical trials of new medical devices that aim to be market ready by the end of the project. There will be significant opportunities for you to develop your understanding of medical device development, as well as the chance to work with patient groups directly to realise the potential impact.

To succeed in this role, you will need to hold a PhD degree in an engineering discipline or have equivalent significant relevant experience or qualifications. Ideally you will also have:

experience of video or image signal processing,

experience of machine learning and data analysis,

the ability to communicate and collaborate with people from several different disciplines,

an appreciation of the process of product design and medical device regulations.
