英国华威大学2022年招聘博士后职位(经济学或管理学)
Research Fellow (105538-0422)
University of Warwick
Description
Following the recently awarded ESRC research funding on how to improve UK economic productivity, we seek to appoint a research fellow to work on modelling how servitization can impact UK economic productivity and environmental performance. The 'servitisation' of products describes the strategy of creating value by adding services to products or replacing a product with a service. This project will investigate how industry can respond to environmental challenges by being innovative and potentially changing business models. The newly generated insights on servitisation will help influence decisions around industrial policy associated with productivity and decarbonisation.
The research fellow will work primarily with Professor Giuliana Battisti and Professor Nigel Driffield on the modelling, data collection, data integration and econometric analysis of various forms of servitization and aspects of firm productivity. This study is part of a larger project and involves collaborations with Aston University - the College of Business and Social Sciences and the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences, Informatics & Digital Technology-, other external stakeholders and Warwick academics, including the University of Warwick Productivity and the Futures of Work GRP (link: https: // warwick.ac.uk/research/priorities/productivity/), led by Professor Giuliana Battisti and the Productivity Institute (link: https: // www. productivity.ac.uk) led for Warwick by Professor Nigel Driffield.
Job purpose
This project is part of a rich portfolio of research activities seeking to explore the role of servitization on productivity and decarbonisation at various levels: within the organization, in the region and at the national level.
The aim is to establish evidence on how servitization impacts economic productivity and environmental performance -i.e., net-zero and the green economy- and use these insights to influence industrial policy and practice in the UK. There is very limited literature and evidence on the impact of servitization on productivity. Hence addressing their nexus at the firm, regional and national levels will be the main focus. The research fellow will work closely with Professor Giuliana Battisti and Professor Nigel Driffield to operationalize the conceptual model by gathering the data and providing evidence of drivers and impacts.
The research fellow will possess a PhD degree in Economics or Management with a strong quants component or closely related discipline (or will shortly be obtaining it). They should have a strong background in one or more of the following areas:
Productivity and performance analysis; econometric, statistical and data analysis
They should have excellent field data collection, analysis, and communication skills.
Interested candidates should provide their application form, a CV, and a list of publications. Informal enquiries to Giuliana.battisti@wbs.ac.uk are welcome.
The start date is 1st July 2022 or as soon as possible thereafter, but it can be subject to some flexibility and negotiation.
If you have not yet been awarded your PhD but are near submission or have recently submitted your PhD, any offers of employment will be made as a Research Assistant on level 5 of the University grade structure (£30,497 per annum). Upon successful award of your PhD and evidence of this fact, you will be promoted to Research Fellow on the first point of level 6 of the University grade structure (£31,406 per annum).
