瑞典查尔默斯理工大学2022年招聘博士后职位(心理声学/建筑听觉环境评价)
2-Year Postdoctoral Position In Psychoacoustics/Evaluation Of Architectural Auditory Environments
Chalmers University Of Technology
he Division of Applied Acoustics at the department of Architecture and Civil Engineering is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to conduct research in the field of evaluation of architectural auditory environments. The position is funded by Anna Ahrenbergs Fond. The successful candidate will receive a 2-year full-time employment at Chalmers University of Technology including the usual benefits. The targeted start date is September 2022.
Project description The planned project will investigate and evaluate supportive architectural auditory environments that exhibit different levels of interactivity. A supportive environment in this context is considered an environment that does either amplify the user's current mood or guide the user into a desired, positive mood. Most of the planned research will be conducted in virtual environments whereby it is also conceivable to conduct parts of the work in the physical world.
The Division of Applied Acoustics, where the successful candidate will be based, is composed of the Vibroacoustic Group and the Audio Technology Group. The Vibroacoustic Group conducts research on topics such as urban acoustics, outdoor sound propagation, indoor sound quality, and railway noise. The Audio Technology Group, which the successful candidate will join, works primarily on the design and evaluation of technologies for spatial audio capture and reproduction.
The Division of Applied Acoustics has an extensive set of spatial audio tools and facilities that will be available to the project. This includes various microphone arrays for spatial audio capture with up to 32 channels, loudspeaker arrays, an 8 m x 8 m x 10 m anechoic chamber, an audio laboratory, a KEMAR dummy head, various head trackers, and an EEG system.
The research topic is closely related to the research and teaching initiative “Music Engineering” at Chalmers, which the successful candidate will be invited to interact with. Contributions to teaching are possible.
Q ualifications To qualify for the position of postdoc, you must hold a doctoral degree awarded no more than three years prior to the application deadline (according to the current agreement with the Swedish Agency for Government Employers).
Key requirements for the post are:
- PhD degree in psychoacoustics, sensory evaluation, or related field - Expertise in virtual reality applications - Expertise in architectural acoustics is beneficial - Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and a strong willingness to integrate into a team are a must.
Excellent skills in the English language are required. Knowledge of the Swedish language is not a requirement.
Contract terms This postdoc position is a full-time temporary employment for two years. We offer Chalmers offers a cultivating and inspiring working environment in the coastal city of Gothenburg. Read more about working at Chalmers and our benefits for employees.
