Opportunities have arisen for two part-time post-doctoral level positions within the Department of Health Psychology, School of Population Health, RCSI. Vacancy 1
Title: Postdoctoral Researcher: Development of Irish National Audit of Stroke (INAS)
Department: Health Psychology

Salary: 40,023 (Pro-rata) IUA 2a.1 from 1st Oct 2022

Post Summary
This Applied Partnership Award (APA) will support the development of the Irish National Audit of Stroke (INAS) by identifying a core minimum set of questions (dataset) to be included in INAS. The academic research team wish to appoint a Postdoctoral Researcher for 12 months at 50% WTE, who will work closely with the PI (Prof. Hickey), a postdoctoral researcher, a clinician researcher, the core research management team, knowledge users and patient representatives in delivering all components of the research project.
Working as a key member of the research team, current international practice and guidelines for stroke audit will be reviewed to ensure that the dataset meets best practice standards, and can be compared internationally. There will be engagement with local stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, policy-makers and stroke survivors, to ensure the dataset fits with local priorities. The dataset will cover the stroke patient journey from acute hospital, to rehabilitation, to community care. It will include data on care quality and on outcomes, including patient-reported outcomes. A data collection plan for the audit will also be produced. The core research team will work closely at all times with the INAS Governance Committee, made up of relevant stakeholders.
Working directly with the APA research team to deliver on the research objectives, the duties of the post include assisting with the completion of scoping and systematic reviews to inform the development of a core minimum dataset, and supporting the completion of qualitative interviews with key national stakeholders and related analysis in order to develop an internationally benchmarked, locally relevant dataset for the Irish stroke audit that will inform policy and practice at national level in the delivery of stroke care for current and future practice.

Title: Postdoctoral Researcher - Systematic reviews and (network) meta- analyses on behaviour change (part time 50% FTE)

Reporting to: Prof Frank Doyle
Salary: 40,023 (Pro-rata) IUA 2a.1 from 1st Oct 2022
Proposed Start Date: 1st October 2022
Role Summary:
We have a 1-year part-time post-doctoral position at RCSI, suitable for psychologist, health services researcher or related discipline. The successful candidate will be employed on a part-time basis with three main goals: 1) to lead a secondary analysis of a completed network meta-analysis; 2) assist with the completion of several ongoing research projects, including other (network) meta-analyses and an ongoing longitudinal healthcare professions project on professionalism, leadership and resilience, including a randomised intervention study; 3) draft grant applications for upcoming awards and manage the public-patient involvement and wider stakeholder input. The position is based in the Department of Health Psychology, RCSI, Dublin 2, but remote working will be considered.
Specifically, the duties of the post are:
Lead the application of a new framework for trial design to a network meta-analysis, including collaboration with internationally-renowned researchers
Assist with the completion of systematic reviews and (network) meta- analyses on behaviour change, cognitive impairment, depression treatments and response rates
Assist with an ongoing longitudinal healthcare professions project on professionalism, leadership and resilience, including a randomised intervention study
Assist with drafting grant applications for forthcoming relevant grant calls in areas of mutual interest, including managing stakeholder involvement in same
Co-ordination of own day-to-day work to support ongoing projects
Facilitating communication and dissemination of information required, including conference presentations, authored peer-reviewed articles, etc.
Liaising with the Principal Investigator, colleagues and stakeholders on matters relating to these and future projects
Undertaking duties assigned by the Principal Investigator or his/her nominee in support of the projects.
Qualifications:
A PhD in psychology, population health, health services research, or a related area. Please see attached job description for further details.
