澳大利亚莫纳什大学地球、大气与环境学院2022年招聘博士后职位
Research Fellow
Monash University
Description
An exciting opportunity is available for a Research Fellow to join ARC Laureate Fellow Peter Cawood and his project on the Pulse of the Earth in the School of Earth, Atmosphere & Environment at Monash University. The Pulse of the Earth is a leading research program that will deliver interdisciplinary research to understand the evolution of the continental crust and its role in the evolution of the Earth system. The School of Earth, Atmosphere & Environment is a world-class centre for research in the diverse areas of Atmosphere, Climate, Geography, Environment and Solid Earth. In addition to being supervised by Peter Cawood, the Research Fellow will have the opportunity to work with Earth scientists within the school.
Monash University is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer with a strong institutional commitment to excellence and diversity, and the Research Fellow will be well integrated into a highly supportive and dynamic research environment that has a strong history of research excellence and collaboration with researchers locally and internationally.
As the Research Fellow, you will become an integral part of the Pulse of the Earth project and the School of Earth, Atmosphere & Environment. The continental crust hosts the resources on which we depend and its evolution controls the environment in which we live. The crust's most fundamental feature is that its record (including resources) is episodic in space and time, yet the origin of this periodicity is unresolved. You will have the opportunity to carry out and support field and laboratory-based Earth Science research, which will lead to an improved understanding of the evolution of the continental crust. The Research Fellow will have access to outstanding geochemical facilities.
About you
As the successful candidate, you will have:
A PhD in the in the relevant discipline or a closely related field, supported by publications
Expertise in isotope geochemistry, numerical modelling or fields applicable to crustal evolution, including demonstrated ability to apply expertise to solve geological problems
Demonstrated ability to analyse data sets to gain understanding of Earth processes with ability to undertake innovative science at the forefront of your field of expertise
This is an ideal role for a researcher who wishes to apply their research skills in an area where research findings can be readily and relatively quickly translated into fundamental contributions about the evolution of our planet.
This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
Your application must address the selection criteria. Please refer to "How to apply for Monash Jobs".
